While Japan’s attention has shifted to big name shounen live-action adaptions (Gintama, Fullmetal Alchemist, and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure are just a few of the series getting movies in the near future), the shoujo train is still chugging right along and next up is the first love series Hirunaka no Ryuusei (Daytime Shooting Star). Keizoku 2: SPEC ended almost year ago leaving many of us scratching our heads and begging for some sort of explanation. Finally, the first trailer for the movie has been released and while it doesn’t answer any questions (like what the hell happened during those last five minutes of the finale) the movie looks great and hopefully will be at the same level as the drama. The clip is only long because it includes a recap of the drama after the trailer and short interviews with the new cast brought in for the movie.
So. Excited. SPEC-TEN starring Toda Erika, Kase Ryo, Kuriyama Chiaki, Ito Atsushi, Asano Yuko, and Kamiki Ryunosuke is scheduled to hit theaters on April 7, 2012. That’s a long wait for us outside of Japan, but hopefully the special that’s scheduled to air early in 2012 will hold us over.
